Identifying causes of gearbox failure is a crucial step in preventing future equipment failures.
To determine route cause failure we perform visual inspections combined with both oil and vibration analysis. These diagnostic techniques along with a complete mechanical inspection are usually required to determine failure and the repair methods required to get units back into operation.

In many cases gear and bearing problems result from either contaminated or insufficient oil which in turn leads to bearing failure, gear tooth damage and metal to metal contact and abrasive wear.
